We are glad to introduce Pascal’s beautiful bone key tops, following the French tradition of organ and harpsichord makers, using beef bone proceeding from the best free range Charolais, Aquitaine and Maine-Anjou cattle.
In animal-friendly farms, the cattle, raised for gourmet food, are organically fed in free pasture under strict agricultural regulations.
The bones used for key tops are exclusively sawn in the femur, so as to provide the best strength and consistency. They are washed and prepared according to the highest standards of the French tradition.
Upon the many advantages found in using bone for keyboard coverings, the most spectacular one is its magnificent texture, as well as its ability to accept the finest polish, blending a natural brilliance with the softest touch.
The contact of the pianist’s fingers with the coverings allows the absorption of moisture, thus avoiding any slippery side-effect on piano playing, unlike with plastics or other synthetic non-porous materials.
Moreover, unlike ivory, the bone whitens with time, providing to the keyboard an exceptional longevity, both esthetically and physically.
Bone is a legal and a natural material.
